Come, Follow Me Today

The Lord has called prophets and apostles to guide his people today, just as he did thousands of years ago with prophets like Moses.  Today we reflect on whether we have the tendency to murmur against the Lord's prophet, just as the Israelites did as Moses tried to bring them to the promised land.

Life was difficult, monotonous, and seemed to go on forever. In today's episode we'll compare their lives with our own, and what it takes to maintain our determination to keep moving forward towards our own promised land.

Numbers 11

As Moses and the Israelites traveled towards the promised land, they continued to complain against the Lord, even to the point of wanting to go back to Egypt, which delayed their eternal progression. But the Lord never forsook them, and protected them from forces that might have stopped their journey completely. Today we discuss how the Lord protects you and me in this same way, whether we believe or not.

Moses sent 12 spies to check out the promised land and bring back word to the people of Israel. Unfortunately, most of the spies’ faith wavered when they saw all the people already inhabiting the land, and told the Israelites the task was impossible. Only Caleb and Joshua trusted in the Lord. Today we’ll discuss what it takes to maintain our faith in the face of challenges, as well as having the strength to speak out in disagreement when necessary.

Moses' fear was that his people would get complacent in the Promised Land, and eventually forget about the Lord their God.  In today's episode, we'll discuss how you and I are also at risk of spiritual complacency, and what we can do to ensure that our families stay strong and return united to our God.
